This short course will introduce the power of entrepreneurship to transform communities. You'll learn more about business as a solution to poverty and how AGE has designed a curriculum that's easy to plug-and-play into any program. The course is designed to be a free introduction for organizational leaders to learn about Alternativ before moving on to the full training.
Your Instructor
Alternativ and its staff and Master Trainers have overseen and encouraged the implementation of the Business Essentials Curriculum in 17 countries and counting. They've shared their work and model of economic empowerment across the international development sphere at events like the "United Nations Commission on the Status of Women" and more.
Lauren is the executive director of Alternativ Global Entrepreneurs and a professor at the University of Colorado Colorado Springs. She holds a MA in Global Finance, Trade, and Economic Integration from the prestigious Josef Korbel School of International Studies with concentrations in International Development and Nonprofit Management, and a BS in Economics from Texas A&M University. She has consulted for numerous NGO’s around the world, streamlining project management systems and creating monitoring and evaluation strategies.
Lauren is joined by special guests with 50 plus years of experience in international development, NGO's, small business development, and implementing empowerment programs to promote long-term solutions and build self-sustaining communities.
